Assistant Manager – Merchandising
(To be based at Nawala)

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, monitor and follow up the development process from the initial proto kit receipt until the style is commercialized and bought, in order to ensure customer requirements/ expectations are catered to and met.
- Review the Seasonal Source plan on the style count and allocate work/ duties within the category accordingly whilst, requesting for extra resources to the current carder if an increasing trend is observed.
- Ensure all samples reviews are conducted by the relevant Merchants and Garment Technicians in order to ensure that all parameters are met.
- Ensure that the Salesman Sample process takes place without affecting any party within the value chain by way of delays and maintain the delivery of SS as per the Production Progress Report.
- Ensure that the Developments submitted reach the Buying Office as per the requested quantities, color and timeline.
- Follow-up on pre-production meetings and ensure all system updates/ documents are ready and handed over to the relevant teams in a timely manner thereby, minimizing production delays.
- Assess new opportunities together with the potential impact and formulate strategic recommendations for business expansion and growth.
- Be responsible for the capacity fulfilment of the overseas plant whilst, working with the planners and relevant teams and ensure that the plant delivers to OTP which, meets the KPIs and maintain its profitability.
- Overlook and facilitate RM write-off projects to reduce excess purchasing by coordinating with the plant technical teams to ensure RM stability whilst, overlooking the aging report to reduce DTD.
- Identify possible improvements to systems/ processes within the Merchandising Department and monitor the implementation of same in order to ensure continuous improvements are made to streamline the merchandising process.
Qualifications, Experience, Skill, and Competencies:
- Degree in Management, Marketing, Merchandising, relevant field or an equivalent professional qualification.
- 4 – 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
- Ability to manage teams.
- Negotiation and Communication skills.
- Presentation skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Possessing of ERP System knowledge can be an added advantage.
