Cyber Security Analyst – Telco Security

Job Purpose

Cyber Security Analyst – Telco Security plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s telecommunications security posture by identifying emerging threats, analyzing risks, and supporting the implementation of effective security controls. This position is well suited for candidates with 2-4 years of experience in Telecommunications or cybersecurity seeking to build a career in cyber and telco security.

Key Responsibilities

Vulnerability Assessment & Risk Management

• Support vulnerability assessment activities, including penetration testing , to identify potential security weaknesses.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and track remediation and mitigation plans.

Telco Threat Analysis

• Analyze emerging Telco threats and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
• Monitor evolving threat landscapes and assess impact on telco   environments.

Telecommunication Network Security

• Develop an understanding of telco network architecture, integrations, and services to identify security risks.
• Assist in implementing controls to safeguard network infrastructure and critical services.

Security Controls Implementation

• Support the implementation and enhancement of cybersecurity controls, tools, and frameworks aligned with the organization’s roadmap.
• Ensure continuous improvement and maintenance of security configurations.

Automation & Intelligence

• Identify opportunities to automate routine security operations and manual processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Leverage AI/ML techniques to enhance threat detection, anomaly identification, and predictive security analytics.
• Support the development and integration of intelligent automation use cases within cybersecurity operations.

Development & Innovation

• Contribute to in-house security development initiatives, including proof-of-concept implementations and prototyping activities.

Incident Response & Investigation

• Participate in the monitoring and response to security events and incidents.
• Support forensic investigations and assist in implementing containment, mitigation, and recovery actions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and group entities to address security requirements and risks.
• Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute effectively to shared objectives.

Technology Research & Continuous Learning

• Research the security implications of emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and next-generation telco platforms.
• Stay current with cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, incidents, and remediation activities.

The Person

• Degree in  Computer/ Telecommunications  Engineering, Information Security, Information Technology or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity or a strong interest in building a career in this domain
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and network security
• Exposure to telco technologies, networking, or cloud environments is an added advantage
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
