Lead Engineer – Radio Network Planning

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Lead Engineer – Radio Network Planning to lead the design, optimization, and evolution of our radio access network. This role is critical in ensuring superior network performance, efficient resource utilization, and readiness for future technologies such as 4G, 5G, VoLTE, and beyond.

The Job

As a Lead Engineer, you will:

• Develop and review radio network designs, ensuring optimal coverage and capacity
• Lead indoor/outdoor planning and validation in line with engineering standards
• Analyze network KPIs, QoS reports, and field data to identify and resolve performance issues
• Lead optimization initiatives and continuous improvement programs
• Prepare network plans aligned with business strategy and emerging technologies (4G / 5G / IoT)
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and innovation initiatives
• Perform advanced data analysis, modelling, and forecasting for network growth
• Utilize analytical tools to improve planning methodologies and decision-making
• Provide technical input for site design, integration, and verification
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure successful deployment
• Align network planning activities with regulatory, ISO, and internal compliance standards
• Participate in strategic discussions and maintain high-quality engineering practices
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and executives
• Foster a culture of learning, performance, and innovation

The Person

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline)
• Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Radio Network Planning & Optimization

• Strong knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies
• Experience with radio planning & optimization tools and network monitoring systems
• Understanding of network KPIs, QoS, and performance analysis
• Exposure to capacity planning, forecasting, and data modelling
• Familiarity with project management and telecom rollout processes
