Marine Officer – McLarens Group

We are seeking a highly competent and safety-focused Marine Officer to support and coordinate marine operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will play a key role in marine safety, offshore operations, vessel management, and commercial support activities, contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate marine operational activities.
• Oversee vessel safety and offshore operations.
• Plan and manage Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer operations.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, HSSE, and other maritime regulations.
• Act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and support vessel security activities.
• Overlook marine crew placing and management.
• Support business development and customer relationship management.
• Maintenance of the boats, Certification , surveys.

Skills and Experience Required

• Master Mariner Class I qualification (STCW compliant).
• Sailing experience as a Chief Mate or in a higher senior maritime position.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and vessel management.
• Experience in marine operations and STS transfers.
• Knowledge of statutory, classification, and flag state requirements.
• Familiarity with Sri Lankan maritime regulations.
• Good computer literacy and systems knowledge.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
• Thorough knowledge of seamanship, navigation, and vessel operations.
