Job Purpose:

An Area Manager (AM) develops distribution networks, sets sales targets, and ensures product availability. They manage stakeholder relationships, monitor stock levels, and oversee distributor profitability. AMs drive sales, optimize team performance, conduct training, and ensure visibility in trade, aiming for regional profitability and market share growth.

The Job:

  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for distribution and Free Lancer (FL) channels based on insights from reports and dashboards.
  • Visualize business dashboards to make proactive decisions for trade availability and product refill growth.
  • Plan and execute visits to top retailers contributing 80% of revenue and ensure visits to the entire retailer base at least once every three months.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key retailers to align with company goals and coordinate joint marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Implement business plan objectives within the Area, driving teams to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Drive sales digitalization and transformation programs in line with Dialog’s business plan objectives.
  • Achieve respective Area sales targets under retail business (mobile/Quad/BP, 5 Star) to meet expected sales revenue.
  • Monitor partner performance and implement improvement plans to maximize effectiveness.
  • Lead and supervise outsourced staff and internal teams, providing direction, motivation, and support.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance team productivity and morale.
  • Focus on quality acquisitions through trade and FL channels, and monitor acquisition quality via insights from quad acquisition dashboards.
  • Promote Dialog retailer loyalty program to push for high revenue quality acquisitions.
  • Optimize workforce deployment and manage Per Head Productivity (PHP), monitoring daily itineraries of Distributor Sales Supervisors (DSS).
  • Ensure maximum visibility and noticeability in trade by achieving full coverage among key revenue-generating retailers and monitor the effectiveness of merchandising activities.

Entry Requirements

The Person:

 

  • MBA and Added advantage
    BBA or a Professional Qualification in Business Management/ Sales and or Marketing
  • Minimum 6 – 7 Years of Experience as a Sales Manager/Supervisor
  • Selling Techniques and Sales Management.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence others.
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills
